ipod switching to mono

i turned it on one day and now it seems like its in mono, even though both headphones work(almost like ur listening to it in the next room through a wall, so no matter how high the volume goes the music is still low)


anyway i reset all the default software settings (not firmware ) tried diff EQ settings and nothing helped

so what could be the problem

have you tried a different set of headphones. Mine used to get a drop of sweat in the earpiece (when I was at the gym) and it would go into "mono" mode till I blew the sweat out.

Since switched to the old Sony walkman style and I don't have any issues.

Check your headphone jack too.

On my old 3g Ipod the contact inside the jack didn't make contact with the ring on the headphone plug. I had to bend it back out with a needle.
