Newegg has it for 189 dollars.....

Would it be a Good Option for me ??? Im upgrading from a Radeon 8500 64MB......

Or should I save a little and get a good 6600GT ?????

Just get the 6600GT, but you can get a Radeon 9800 Pro for $120 on Newegg awell.

If you're willing to spend that much, I think there's a GeForce 6800 non-ultra for about the same price. It will absolutely blow away any 9800.

Yeah, but get the 6600GT.

Hell, if you are ready to spend 189 bucks, get a 6800NU off of newegg

i'd definately go for the 6800NU.. newegg has a few under $189

6800 smokes a 9800 pro

plus the x700 is crap compared to the 6600GT. no its not a good deal unless its half that price. 6600 or 6800nu is the best deal in that price range.

Werd, i agree. Go with a 6800NU, hell of a better deal that 189 for a 9800

something tells me he doesn't have a pci-e slot ;)
there is agp version of this card, but i won't recommend him that.

yo ~ever~, get evga 6600GT that should cost u like around 150 bux on newegg. 9800pro is surely nice card, but a little slow for some game compared to 6600GT. Otherwise, u can get 6800NU to blow 6600GT and 9800pro out of water.

well, it's not like anyone would ever buy one at those price that knows about a 6600gt. I know the bigger online computer hardware stores tend not to sell em.

newegg and zzf r sellin X700 Pro but pcie version only. o well there's no difference between agp and pcie version of X700 Pro, maybe a little.

Edit: i agree with ur point unless u r referrin it to agp family.

I mean the prices were like $160+ on those x700pros for agp...you can get a 6600gt agp for that price. The x700pro isn't a bad card for pci-e because you can usually get it pretty cheap.

Ya dont even bother with a 9800 pro you can get much better cards around the same price ie. 6600gt and better yet a 6800

Agreeing with the 6600GT or 6800 choices. At that price point, you can't go wrong with the performance and features you'll be getting.

Like almost everyone else, I'll add the standard:

"If you're going to spend around $189, don't buy the 9800 pro,
get a plain 6800"

:D

For $190 like eveyrone else has stated, the 9800 pro isnt the best investment. however for $125 its a huge bang for the buck

9800 Pro

Theres nothing that can touch the 9800 pro @ that price range, however the 6600gt, and 6800 are great cards for the 200 mark.

Let's think.

9800 pro comes in AGP only.
x700 is similiar to a 9800pro and is pci-e only
A 6600gt comes in AGP/PCI-e

We recomend the 6600gt or 6800nu in AGP

and you recomend a x700?

Dude think for just one moment.

But yes I paid $250 for my evga 6800nu and it runs great. Get it.

Reading ftw.

There is an AGP X700, and yes it sucks.

Get a 6600GT or a 6800NU
