Is it safe to have a computer running in a freezing environment?

I've been running my computer in an attic for the past week, and I'm just curious if temperatures below freezing would have an adverse effect on anything? There is no chance of condensation, but I'm worred about the caps compressing, fluid bearings in hdds, etc.. Everything is air cooled, of course :p

I live in an attic with a 12,000 BTU window AC unit on all the time and my PC is fine. Sweet temps too.:)

as long as the whole room is below freezing you hsould be fine.

the only time condinsation happens is when you have something below the ambient temp. For example, your computer room is 80* F ambiant and your CPU is 65* F then you would have condinsation on the CPU.

If your room is 32*F and your CPU is 110*F there will be no condinsation.

As for caps compressing, it would take some serious cold to do that. No just at freezing.

My only wonder is how you actually sit in there when it is that cold???

IF you look at the link in his post it shows you a picture of were his computer is. He has the tower in the attic and the rest of his comp in his room.

Hm that's not a bad idea.
/me wonders if I could get cables long enough to get my pc in my attic for the winter, which is in my ceiling.....
