I have a x750.
It has 12 pins on the end that goes to the psu, the other end becomes 6+2 connectors. so 4x of those on the psu end has 2 wires.

My question is, is it safe to make them just 6 pins without the +2? Basically remove 2 wires on each pci-e plug

I don't see why you couldn't remove them. They are just the black wires (grounds) aren't they? The only harm you should do by removing them is that you will have to add them again if you upgrade and the upgrade needs the 2 wires.

ok cool thanks

well if i upgrade, i got another pack of wires lol

This is what my psu does, all the grounds are connected anyways. If you remove them just make sure you don't leave an open connection somewhere that could cause a problem.
