Well now that we've both called each other names, hopefully we're square again and can refrain from hateful speech. I'm just saying what I see in the forums as you did, I would have entertained a different viewpoint. In that sense, we may even both be right about different clicks of the [H] forums. Don't get me wrong, just like I've seen uncalled for use of the e-penis defense, I've seen people wave an e-penis before, just personally I've not seen it over what slot the graphics fit in. The click you speak of has an e-penis problem, the click I speak of has a jealousy/money problem. So you left me with one piece of advice, which I will take, maybe you won't mind if I do the same... hold back slapping on the "idiot" label a bit, right on a specific person.
 
Stickign with AGP for now. I prefer to stay "middle of the pack" because I can't justify ~$500 on the newest hardware. I will probably be buying a used 6800GT or Ultra soon, and that should only set me back ~$200. That should definetly be enough performance to last me another year or so.

I won't upgrade to PCI Express until my whole rig needs an update, but right now my Mobo + CPU + Memory are doing just fine :)
 
AGP cause i can't afford a new rig.

if i could get what i wanted, it'd be a crossfire/SLI dual opteron :D

you can guess the likelyhood of that... :(

No, actually, I'm currently agp, but up upgrading within the week to PCI-E. I would have stuck with AGP, because I'm pretty happy with my 9800pro, but the I've gotta switch some time.

AGP in all 4 of my PC for now!! I'm still waiting on ATI to release their PCIE Beast before I decide on it or 7800 GTX.
 
I just did the complete upgrade a few months ago from 478 & AGP to 939 and PCI-E.

I am hoping with my current rig (X2 4400+ 2gig DDR) I can skip over DDR2 and wait until DDR3 and whatever socket if uses.

I just sold my agp 6800nu for $300 and upgraded to a 6800 ultra pci-e for $350... gawd, i love progress.

I see AGP still is dominant on this forum (currently 156 users vs. 71 for PCI-E). I am actually shocked by this, with the plethora of threads about the 7800 GTX and SLI setups (PCI-E only for those that are unfamiliar). Although, I see a pattern with most posts about AGP. The next rig will have a PCI-E slot. I wonder how many of those still with AGP will upgrade their vid card before they move to PCI-E.

I think alot, if asked today, would say they are staying agp. By the time they upgrade I suspect you'll see them move to pci-e. Its the future. Nothing wrong with AGP.. just a dead end technology.
 
main computer has an AGP radeon x800xl in it. while sooner or later ill go pci-express, a new video card was cheeper than a new mobo, cpu and videocard all in one go.
 
AGP here. When I built my system a while ago, my budget only allowed for a mid-range card and a cheap AGP mobo.

And 2 dogs.

Now, did you really need to know this?

I can play any game on the market today, tomorrow, next week, and probably next year.

Not suprised the lead is for agp, more suprised 90+ have pci express.
