hello - i have a 4th gen ipod that i use with ITunes 4.7

i did something stupid- import a folder that i had already imported, and now i have 700 duplicate songs

i know i can select them by hand to deleate, but this would take forever. is there any faster way to remove them?

thanks, jsd

I'd make a smart playlist that will filter by date added and then delete the ones in the playlist.... but that's just me :p

latest itunes has a "Show Duplicate Songs" function.

You could try that.

You can't delete songs from the library via playlists, but you can change their ID3 tags. That's what I usually do. I make a smart playlist that contains all the wrong songs, change their artist and album tags to "Remove," go into the library and delete them.
