Hey everyone,

I just got myself a Phenom 9600+ BE OEM from a user online, I need to test if the CPU is alright, problem is the CPU is OEM and has no HSF, I have a HSF coming in the mail sometime this week from NCIX.com but I want to get it tested ASAP. I was wondering, if I'm not going to OC the CPU could I use the stock HSF from my X2 3800+ ??

I'd appreciate the help.

As long as you are not using the CPU at full load for a long period, the stock HSF from the X2 should do the job.
 
ah ok thanks, the pics of the fans I seen for the 9600 BE HSF's were all copper plated with heatpipes, it looked like a monster for a stock HSF. I'll give it a shot.

Do you have any idea what a safe operating temp for these CPU's are?
