FAIR WARNING- it does have Win 8.1, so you might have to help them with the upgrade, but that's about it.
 
That seems awfully expensive considering the hardware it has, one would think a member of [H] would do much better building a machine for friends or family in terms of power and price. I wouldn't pay more than about $550 for such a machine myself, but then again I'd never buy a pre-built anyway. :)

Yea, even for a pre built, that is not a good deal.
 
Major company, 3 yr in home warranty, quad core with dedicated graphics and a 2tb hybrid? Good luck.
Besides, not everyone had the time to build a machine for family these days.
