Looking at these two ASUS 1ms monitors to go with new laptop

Should be getting my MSI gs60 next week, and I'm going to need a new monitor to go with it for when I do want to game with it. I haven't been keeping up with the latest tech and who makes a good product at the moment so I can only go off reviews but I'd rather get feedback here. I know that obviously response time and refresh rate matter but beyond that I'm not sure. I don't need the absolute best. Both of these are 1ms. Does ASUS make a good monitor right now?

It's the VG248QE and the VX248H

Both are 24" and 1ms. Both are hdmi which I need. I think one has 144hz and the other I'm not sure.

Going to be used for HD movies, gaming, and any other general use. No video editing/rendering or anything like that

Any suggestions? Are both of these good buys?
