Hello folks,

I'm looking for a good 22" panel to buy. I'll be using it first for graphic/web development and second for gaming.

I've heard good things about the 226BW but apparently you can't control whether you get the "good" S panel or the "bad" A panel. I don't mind spending money on a quality monitor. Spent some time at tftcentral looking at panel reviews but apparently they don't have many 22" reviews.

What can I buy that I'll be sure is good for my needs? Is the Dell panel a good bet also?

they dont have a lot of 22'' review since they are all TN, TN=CRAP....Especially if you want good image quality

I'd get an 8 bit panel if you're doing graphics due to it's superior color accuracy.

I haven't looked at many 22in monitors but the 20in ones have smaller dot pitch, which would make a better picture.

NEC 20wmgx2 (20in)
Samsung 215tw (21in)
Dell 2007wfp (20in)

ok,if you don't care money,go eizo CG221, this is the best 22" in the world

ALL 22" monitors are TN? if that's true then I'm open to suggestions for anything similar sized (20" or 20.1" or whatever). 24" is out of my price range unfortunately.

Ok I'm gonna rephrase what I said just in case there's one that knows best.... I (and a lot people here, since i'm not the only one who posted this in other thread) have never seen a 22' that wasn't TN...

I don't know about that Eizo though, and they make some of the best monitors so it might be not TN...

Look out some people are getting really bad Dell 2007WFP they now are bad TN panels.

take a look at the new HP w2207.

I wouldn't do that if it's going to be used for graphic work.

Really; TN? I thought some were VA panels, while others were S-IPS, but not TN. This sucks.

Are you looking for a widescreen monitor? Also, that Samsung 215 monitor isn't too good for gaming.

I know the DELL E207WFP is a TN panel which is also a 20".

It says on Newegg that the 22" LG L226WTX-BF is not a TN panel but a WSXGA+ panel. Are they pretty similar?

Retailers online want ridiculous prices for these two panels:

NEC 20wmgx2 (20in)
Samsung 215tw (21in)

pushing into 22" panel price range. For those prices I'd rather buy a TN 22" panel unless someone can suggest a cheaper source.

I agree those 2 are overpriced. I was just giving a few options for 8 bit panels. That's why I chose the Dell since it is cheaper, especially when they had the 20% off coupons.

I defenitly backup this statement and I am using the Eizo FlexScan S2410 right now.

Look also at the pictures in this link: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1180814

You pay more for a Eizo but you also get a lot more in picture quality, in not having dead pixels and in a 5 year warranty.

Once you started with an Eizo you don't want anything else anymore.

My Eizo S2410 uses the 24"WS Samsung S-PVA (LTM240M2) panel.

If you want to know which panel is used look on: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/

Maybe the Eizo S2111W is a relative payable alternative.

My 24" was 1100 Euro's which wasn't a bad deal at all if you consider the quality I've got now.

Looks like a great Monitor!I dont think they make a 22" model.I didnt see the S2410 but saw a s2411! and that sells for around $1500 USD.

I have been reading reviews from people who had the possibility to compare these 24" monitor and the all say that Eizo is realy a leap better.

The BenQ is better than the Dell they say but the Eizo is realy ahead of these two.

See if I can fight these reviews again will post them later.

Yes, Dell also used the same panel (24"WS Samsung S-PVA (LTM240M2) but sometimes a diffirent one.

So you can understand now that the quality is not only in the panel but merely in the controller of the panel.

look at http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ for that info.

Here I dug up some reviews though not the same I've been reading:
