Hey,

I just bought a Mac Mini and since I had a 7200rpm disk laying around I decided to swap it - and use the supplied one in an external enclosure. Swaping and installing X went smooth, but somehow I can get the external drive to work - OS X doesn't see anything if I plug it in (the drive is spinning though), Vista sees only the interface and says to insert a drive. Any clues?

Neither vista nor OSX sees the enclosure. Either it's broken, the drive is broken, it requires drivers on both, or any number of bad things are happening, including, but not limited to, space aliens putting kitty porn on your external drive. :p

The enclosure works with a different drive, so it's ok. The drive works in the mini - must be those space aliens then :/.

Vista more than likely won't see the drive since it's OS X's format (HFS+)

What shows up in disk utility, and what about the console logs?

It won't read it, but it should see it (and ask for a format to use it).
Disk utility says nothing about the disk in the enclosure, but it sure works if I plugged it directly to the mini. Plugged it into my wintel laptop and it works as well - I'll try to install windows on it and then move to the enclosure.
