So i have a Q6600 and 4 gigs of RAM and today i was using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop CS3, Bridge, and Itunes and i locked up my computer by filling all available RAM and maxing out 2 of four cores. It ran like crap for like 10 minutes till it could clear all the processes. Oh well looks like ill be stepping up to 8 gigs so that doesnt happen anymore.

Also running vista home premium 64-bit.

I really never thought that i would be able to push this system to that kind of an extreme this early after building it. But to be fair my lightroom has 60k .cr2 photos.

Anyone else done anything similar while editing photos on a high end machine.

My mom's photographer friend uses a dual xeon workstation with 16GB of ram, lol. He had the money and asked me to spec him the best, so I did, lol.

yea i wish i had that kind of rig, but being a poor Grad student in an accounting program doesnt offer much for photography or gaming.
