Microsoft Publishes Fix for Surface RT Battery Issues

The red-headed stepchild of the Microsoft family, the Surface RT has had a pretty rough life so far and hasn’t improved its lot in life since the introduction of the now pulled and re-introduced Windows 8.1 update. Microsoft is easing its pain with a fix for the battery life issues.

It’s strange that Microsoft didn’t put this into a knowledge base article rather than burying it on their Surface RT information page.

For clarification's sake:

This is not an issue that affects the "average user." This issue affects those who had installed the 8.1 RT Preview and then updated to RT 8.1.

Why? MS gave Preview access to the public. Plenty of people apparently downloaded and installed it. This is Microsoft's fuckup.
