Hello everyone,

The product in question: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/accessories/type-cover-2

One of the keys on our "Type Cover 2" came off. Somehow, a small piece of plastic on the back of the "v" key broke, and now I can't re-attach the key permanently. The scissor switch mechanism is intact. Only the key cap itself is broken.

Is anyone aware of any website from which I could purchase a replacement? The closest thing I could find is here:

http://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/servlet/the-25730/Type-Cover-Keyboard-Key/Detail

But these keys are for the "original" Type Cover, rather than the "Type Cover 2." It's my understanding that the key travel distance is different on the "2," which leads me to suspect that these caps are incompatible.

Am I screwed or what? Is anyone aware of a place from which I can get a replacement key cap? :( Contact Microsoft support?

FWIW, we ended up taking the keyboard to a Microsoft store along with the invoice. Much to my amazement, they just exchanged the whole thing, no questions. At least customer service was good.
