Anyone played this? I could only find a few references to it when I searched the forums. The final episode for the first chapter was just released about a month ago. I found this mod on Steam after beating Ep 2 and wanting something else to play. It is far better than the story of Ep 2 and it has some of the same story aspects as Portal such as being cryptic and where GlaDos is directing you as the test subject around.

I started playing this last night and still have about another hour to go I think. I'd guess that the gameplay is around 3-5 hours depending on how fast you play. It starts of kinda slow and picks up as you get more into it. If you were dissapointed with Ep 2, want to expand on the HL2 universe, or just want to play an interesting Single-player HL2 mod; give it a shot. Gravity gun is not available but it shouldn't be as it isn't part of the story.

BTW, It requires Ep one to play because some files (Zombine in particular) are needed. Oh yeah, it's free and only a 150mb download.

Not bad for a mod, but "far better than the story of EP2" is a stretch at best. It was worth the download.
 
Yeah, not bad. The story is there, and is interesting enough to keep you entertained as you make your way through the island. If you've finished Episode 2 and are itching for a little more action, then it's worth a download for sure, but don't expect much mroe than HL2: Lost Coast as far as story goes.
 
Wow that was a wonderful mod. Especially since one guy (Adam Foster) created it, not the whole team at valve.
 
Riot Act for HL2 is also a decent SP experience.
It's shorter than Minerva, but pretty well executed imo. You are placed in the role of a prisoner and have to escape from prison.

It's a quick play, I finished it in around an hour and was pretty pleased overall.

I did that when I first bought HL2, went a finished HL1. Couldn't get through it fast enough because I really wanted to play HL2. Have fun!

There are some fantastic multiplayer HL2 mods I'm getting into lately.

Pirates and Vikings II - nothing like being a berzerked viking killing knights
Dystopia - no idea what I'm doing in it but it's a huge mod
Age of Chivalry - early beta, but fun to play
No More Room in Hell - ZOMBIE mod! (not released yet)

Guns operate just like they do in HL2 so i saw no problem with them. I played the first 2 chapters and im waiting to finish some of my other games before i start on the third chapter but i love Minerva i almost like it more than HL2. I think they need to get rid of the gravgun in and get back to the core of HL. GIVE ME SOME ZEN ALIENS. And no the headcrabs dont count.
 
I played through Minerva in one sitting, it was quite good. The polish on it was amazing, and the help the mod maker received from Valve really showed towards the end. I recommend it to anyone who wants more HL2 goodness. Riot Act was also fun.
 
never beat hl1 and i dont think ever will. I remember getting stuck on a stage on hl1 and i just quit. fast forward 8 years and still i haven't gone back and finished hl1 yet.
