Mobile CPU Core 2 Duo T5200, confusing bowl of spaghetti.

HI everyone,


I have a question in regards to the Mobile Core 2 Duo T5200. I have searched for some answers and I haven't found much. I would like to find out if there is a difference between the socket 479mPGA and Socket M. I that the same? Or is that different. I would like to upgrade to a T7200 or maybe a T7600 but I'm not sure if I can. Another question is rather the current CPU that I have is 64 bit chip. Thanks

Same pinout, as it's the same family. Only difference between the 5xxx and the 7xxx is the cache on the mobile side.

The T5200 also has a lower bus speed and I don't believe it supports any of the virtualization features. Those are the only differences.

That doesn't mean you can't upgrade. Just need to make sure your current chip is socketed, if it's soldered onboard you're out of luck.
