Monitor "No Signal" Please Help!

Hi everyone I just bought a 22" Acer V223WD, I started off by shutting down the pc, next I plugged in the new monitor and started the compuer, I could see the startup, the windows XP logo and I could even get into the BIOS settings, but when it comes to the log on screen, it goes blank and then says no signal? what could possibly be wrong?:( I've tried pretty much everything.
 
Though it might sound silly, is the PCI 6-pin plug into your videocard?

Have you tested the monitor on another computer yet?
 
I haven't tried it on another computer yet, and I just tried plugging the old one in again, and now he doesn't work!
