Has anyone been able to mount the zalman 7000cu all copper heat sink to the msi k8n neo platinum. it seems that the backplate on the board won't come off, and as far as i can tell, the 2 "nipples" to mount the fan are too tall with the msi backplate.
Does anyone know if there is a work around for that?

you have to remove the backplate and use the zalman one. i heard that if you take a blow dryer and heat up the back plate it makes the glue less sticky . so then you can use a flat object like a credit card and loosen the back plate

did it work, S[H]ady? am about to get the same heatsink/mobo combo and am definitely NOT into the blowdryer thing...

i just peeled it off.. took some effort, but the backplate will come off eventually. just be careful not to bend the board too much.

MSI advises people to use the blowdryer. I did that myself and in a manner of minutes it came right off..
