alright so when my computer boots up i get the whole ide detection and it detects both hdd's and when it goes to windows i get the error of

" the drive of the network connection shortcut HDD refers to is unavailable. make sure the disk is properly inserted or the network source is unavailable try again later."

so i have to restart it again and then it detects and then when i go into screen saver and come back it happens again. is it just me or should i check my cables and all that over again? maybe i did something wrong. thanks for the help and advice you guys leave me

try running manufacturers diagnostic software
Do you have both hds on the same channel (cable)? Try running them on separate channels.

make sure that the primary drive is set to master and the 2nd drive is set to slave.

gotcha i will check it and get back to you guys and see. i used the seagate diagnostic tools and it detects my primary master but not slave. 0_0
