They also utilize an additional interconnect that links the two speakers together. Each speaker has an additional crossover that takes a portion of the amplified signal (100hz-2khz), inverts the phase, and sends it to the outer midwoofers of the adjacent speaker. The woofers are spaced horizontally from each other the same distance as the your ears are from one another. That way, thanks to the cancellation of the sound waves, each hear only hears its respective speaker, i.e. the left ear hears only the left speaker and vice versa.

True surround sound out of only two speakers.
 
Great speakers. I might try out a set someday once I tire of my current speakers.
