My storage hard drive takes 8-10 seconds to load.

I'm a complete moron when it comes to configuring storage drives. I installed a nice big SD hard drive and plugged in my old os drive as a new storage device. It all functions fine but the lag to access the storage drive is obviously due to something i did wrong. Essentially when i click on a folder designated to this drive it says 'folder empty' until it eventually loads.

Any help would be nice.

You will have the same issue if you use a external USB drive..
