MySQL deleting blob data

MySQL is doing something wierd and can't for the life of me figure it out. When ever i upload a file into mysql, less than 10K, mysql deletes it. The data becomes overhead and gets deleted when i optimize the table. What can be done to debug this, theres nothing in the mysqld.log file. Any ideas?
