Need a new mic, desktop or headset?

I need a new mic that will be primarily used for Teamspeak/Vent. My current mic which is a headset mic isnt loud enough I have been told and if I enable mic boost in control panel it creates an annoying humming noise.

So, I'm wondering should I buy another headset or or get a desktop mic(are all headset mics like this would probably be a more appropriate question). Are desktop mics louder at all?

Recomendations of a headset or desktop would be greatly appreciated, I dont really need something spectacular, just something that is loud enough and has decent clarity for TS/Vent.
