I need a solution to connect a mac g5 workstation to a linux server (a 4.5 terabyte storage server actually) that has high sustained transfer rates... fast enough to transfer raw High Def video between the two in real time (probably something along the lines of ultra scsi 320 speeds but i don't know how to configure it or if it's possible)

thanks

Even gigabit only gets ~60Mb/sec transfer rates.

That is about what most drives get too, but if you have a high speed raid array you will top that. (by as much as double)

You could look into Mulit-host SCSI.. but I have never really played with that. (a friend did, with two old adaptec 3940's in two different comptuers hooked to the same SCSI chain sharing the drives on that chain.. worked if you set everything up right)

Could you bind multiple gig ethernet adapters on each side and do it that way? All I can think of. Unless you have the cash to invest in 10Gb ethernet.
