Need help choosing ram for DFI Ultra-D/ X2 3800+ System

I just went through a few months of hell with my 2x 1gb Crucial Ballistix PC4000 till I finally confirmed that one was defective and RMA'd them back to newegg. Im getting a refund of $200us in the next few days (hopefully tomrw) and I have started to look at which new sticks I would like. I want 2x 1gb PC4000 for sure.

I was look at the G.Skill HZ sticks originally but they are not on sale anymore :(

But I also checked out the sticks from OCZ and there are quite a few for around 200us.

I am asking for recommendations as they are look fine to me. Is the 3rd OCZ set I posted worth the extra $20?

i am in the same boat except i have the opty 165. it is the CCB1E 0550VPMW and i know it can go high.and my board is stable until around 320 so i need ram that can go high. help eclipse!!
 
wow, you managed to get a refund from crucial. nice :D

personally, i like the g.skill HZ's the most, but the OCZ golds that you linked are identical sticks, same IC, same PCB.. should clock quite similarly too ;)

the platinum EL's you linked last are micron 5b F. when you get good sticks, they fly at 3-3-3, but the odds of getting a good set is pretty damn slim
 
The refund is from newegg actually :D

Just checked the G. Skill link again and I am seeing a ridiculous amount of combos, just ordered an vf700 for my GTX for free!
Plus I wont have a rebate to deal with. G.Skill it is :D

im getting the g.skills but im undecided on which combo to get with them. i need the vf700 as the stock cooler on my 7800gt sounds like a mini tornado in my case but i was waiting for the vf900 to come to newegg to get that. i could also use an external hdd enclosure. I recently bought a 250gb sata hdd @ bestbuy for $100 but newegg has a combo on the same hdd for $58. i could return the hdd to bestbuy and get the one off of newegg but i dont really want to do that. ahhhhhhh the choices. i always make the wrong one :rolleyes:
 
Lol I know how it is. Would be nice to get more than one combo purchase with the ram :D
