I'm trying to install an fx5200 card: http://www.newegg.com/product/produ...N82E16814150040

into a pcchips 787cl+ mobo: http://www.newegg.com/product/produ...N82E16814150040

note: the link refers to the v3.0 when the mobo I have is a v1.0 with no agp slot. And onboard graphics.

In the BIOS, it is selected to allow a pci graphics card, but when I tried installing the card I get I think 8 beeps, which I believe signals a video card problem. I am uninstalling the current video adapter in device management before installing the new card to and nothing. For kicks, I changed the setting from pci to agp to allow an irq for a pci video device, and that time I didn't get any beeps, but nothing is being sent to the monitor, at which time I plugged the monitor back into the onboard graphics plug and instantly got video.

I can't seem to find anywhere in the bios where I can disable onboard graphics. And from what I can tell of the mobo documentation, there's no jumper to disable it.

What am I missing here?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to bump this so soon, I think there's a 24hr rule out there, but just wanted to throw more info out there for clarity, and wasn't sure if editing my previous post would bump it. According to the bios, it's set up to allow vga adapters in pci slots.

If I put the card in, I get 1 longer beep followed by 9 shorter beeps. If I remove the card, reboot and uninstall the current driver, install the card and reboot again, I get no beeps but it doesn't send anything to the monitor.

I also just realized the link for the products don't even work.

Here's the links.

have you tried disabling onboard graphics, putting the monitor adapter on the PCI graphics card and run the system?
