I have to install this pair of high-density RAMs to this motherboard. But the RAM has no AMD EXPO. Does anyone succeed in manually entering the memory timing in the BIOS?

- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP) 96GB (2 x 48GB) 288-Pin DDR5 6400 CL32-39-39-102 1.35V F5-6400J3239F48GX2-TZ5RS

- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7950x3d CPU

Thanks in advance.

not that ive seen around here...
since youve got it, try it. also dont be surprised if it need a little more voltage.

Many AM5 motherboards can use XMP.

You should be able to load the XMP profile. But, you may have to lower the speed to 6000, for it to be stable with a 1:1 ratio on the infinity fabric.

Here is a good video, which shows good, achievable timings for AMD, provided by Buildzoid. I used Buildzoid's Intel timings, for my own Intel PC.

Sadly, I have already bought the ASUS motherboard. I will have to stick with it.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could post the memory timings of this particular high-density RAM on any motherboard. I will start tuning from there.

Thanks for the tip about lowering the RAM speed to 6000Ghz to do gear 1 timing. I will conduct some experiments to see whether it is true and report the results here.

That Asus board won't load the XMP profile? If True, that's a bummer. I briefly used an MSI board for AM5, and it could use XMP.

Checkout that video, they post really good RAM Timings, provided by Buildzoid. If you can get your RAM to run with those timings, it will perform better than any XMP/EXPO profile.

If you can't get those timings to work. Try dropping it to DDR5 5600. It will still be faster. You can see the results in that video.

All of the other timings in your motherboard, which aren't shown in buildzoid's timings, will be trained/optimized by your motherboard, after you reboot.

What is the correlation between the RAM and you MB? I don't get the sadly you already bought it comment.
Have you tried any of the suggestions yet?
Did XMP profile work or not?

FWIW Asus doesn't list XMP in the BIOS. What you're looking for is DOCP, enabling that should allow it to run at the XMP profile.

Thank you for the tip. I will look into this once the motherboard arrives.

Everything I've read says AMD does not play well with 24/48GB DIMMs
As in, its newsworthy if it even POSTs with them.

Even after the new AGESA bios update, which is supposed to be a game changer for RAM on AM5?

Thanks in advance.

As someone else mentioned, it may be labeled "DOCP" in BIOS. I've got a different board and socket (Asus Prime B550-PLUS, AM4), but I enter DOCP/XMP voltage and primary timings manually without issues. Should work for you.
