Need Help!!!

My computer will freeze though the mouse cursor still moves and all the program still run, like for instance I will be playing music and without warning the pc will freeze though the music still plays but I cant select anything, if you do ctrl-alt-del then the screen will refresh with the task manager tab, but I still cant select anything after it comes up, only thing I can do it turn the system off.

Whats going on?

P.S I have this weird file called 16 dead.exe at start up, you can see it in the task manager for a split second, could that be causing it?

WEird - what OS are you using? Do you have Windows Defender installed/updated to check for spyware? What Antivirus app do you use?

Disable all your startup stuff then (start-run- msconfig). Startup tab. Hide all MS services and stop anything else from booting with the PC and see if it still happens.

Run AV/Spyware scans.
