Sold system in my sig..... onward and upward.....

Intel Core i7 920
Gigabyte X58-UD4P
G.Skill 3x1GB DDR3 PC10666
BFG 800W PSU
eVGA 9800GT (newest revision)
Samsung 22X DVD Burner

With discounts--- $950 shipped.

All items I'm getting off the Egg. Going with the stock heatsink for a while until I can get the True 120 later down the road.

The 9800GT is either going to get stepped up to a GT212 card down the road or demoted to a PhysX card or SLi with a GT212 card.

Forgot to mention..... Have a CM 690 and a Seagate 750GB drive.

Look good? Will be pulling the trigger here in the next couple of days.

Thanks guys.

Aaron

I might go for a 3x2 gb set if possible but I guess if you are on a <1k budget it's not really possible if you really want a i7 rig. I assume you are already good on things like OS, HDDs, monitor, etc? Most of the rest seems alright.

before you pull the trigger, search different websites to see if theres better deals. check frys and microcenter if you have one near you. for example at microcenter you can buy the i7 920 for like $230 instore.

Make sure that the power supply you get is the ES model.

But out of curiosity, which monitor/resolution are you currently using?

Heh, Microcenter copied that deal from Fry's, but I'm guessing you missed out on the Fry's deal. You can try pricematching, but if there's no microcenter nearby, they most likely won't unless you find a nice manager. If not, oh wellz.

I'd go for the 6GB kit instead, if you can afford it.

Just a quick update:

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 - Retail

Ordering next is:

I got the ES model of the BFG... but I'm wondering what the differences are? I did some massive research last night on PSU's and this one sounds like a real winner. Anyways--- As for the memory, if I can squeeze the extra cost of RAM past my wife, I will try and go for the 6GB. If not, 3GB is more than a enough for now.

Monitor I'm using right now is a 19" LG 2ms 1440x900 on DVI.

I'm going to upgrade my monitor to either a 22"/24" later this summer along with a GT212 GPU or wait for the GT300 cards.

Anyways, thanks to everyone for the advice! :)

Edit: I am curious though--- if you were me.... which memory to get?

vs.
