not sure about that specific one, but we had a Netgear 10/100 8-port, that has taken years of LAN parties / file (ie porn) sharing parties for hours on end. Also used to back up computers from one side of the house to the other (100+ ft.) , Often copying files for hours on end.

Still works.

The Netgear GS (and FS) series of switches are my favorite low-cost unmanageable switches, and I've used plenty. Go for it.

If you want the next step up, get a manageable HP Procurve 1800-8G. Great little switch for the money.

Had the 10/100 8-port for going on something like 7 years, just upgraded to the GB verison you are looking at 5 months ago and it hasn't missed a step in that whole time.

I strongly recommand this line of switches for anyone needing a unmanaged switch.

I've got that exact switch, and I've had zero problems with it in the year I've had it, even with 4 computers running gigabit with jumbo frames, and transferring TONS of stuff across the switch between all four. I'd highly recommend it!
