Teniq tower for cooler i only buy from newegg so if there is anything better you guys think for the Q6600 please suggest. Also is that PSU enough for all that ? Well i want one because im thinking of doing mya or just multitasking alot with programs photoshop 3dmarks gaming alot of gaming, bragging mostly lol but the E8200 seems so attractive with its price.

Reconsider buying from just NewEgg. You could find the Corsair VX550 for $85 shipped (with a $15 mail-in rebate) at Buy.com. (And yes, the VX550 is enough for your proposed setup.)

Fry's currently has the Q6600 on sale for $200, and some local Microcenter stores may still have the Q6600 at that same price. The E8xxx dual-cores are good alternatives, if you don't really want to spend too much money -- just don't spend more than $220 for one. As for the CPU cooler, consider one of the following:

Scythe SCNJ-1100P Ninja HSF - $36
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle HSF - $37
Tuniq Tower 120 HSF - $45
ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 120mm HSF - $50
Thermalright Ultima-90 HSF - $46 & Panaflo FBA09A12M 92mm Fan - $3
Noctua NH-U12P HSF - $60
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme HSF - $57 & Scythe S-Flex SFF21E 120MM Case Fan - $14

For around the same price as the Dominators, you could buy a 4GB kit of DDR2 800 RAM (which is all the Q6600 needs, both at stock and overclcocked). If you're trying to push one of the E8xxx dual-cores beyond 3.2GHz, you may want to consider getting DDR2 1000 RAM. CL4 RAM offers no noticeable performance increase, so don't spend any more for it. If you purchase 4GB of RAM, consider getting a 64-bit operating system so that you could access all of your memory. 32-bit versions of Windows (XP and Vista) can only read a total of 4GB, and it subtracts the amount of usable RAM by the amount of memory used by other system components (including, but is not limited to, the video card).

What about other components? Do you have a spare OS license? A case?

Which monitor (and its resolution) are you using?

What's your budget (or, the most you're willing to spend on this rig)?

But dnt forget that if you buy 4gb of ram then you'll have to switch over to vista or xp 64 bit =p

EDIT: Oh you already mentioned that =p

yea, what these guys said.

you need to get a 64-bit OS, such as vista home premium OEM / ultimate if you are hardcore.

grab the g.skill ram. 2x2gb modules. gotta run 4gb. its da best. (insert spinng propeller).

i went with the zerotherm nirvana for my cpu hsf. got 20-24 idle temps on my q6600 (9x400) @ 3.6ghz, 30-45 at full load in cod4/crysis/prime95 depending on heat in my room. MAKE SURE that you look at a picture to see how to apply your thermal paste properly, get your hands on some Arctic Silver-5 paste.

Alright thanks guys for the help. Yah i live in Fairfax,VA so my micro center is like 10 min from my house only reason i decided not to buy there was there mobos were so overpriced but i might rethink that cuz they just got the DFI dark selling it for 120.
