Not quite sure, it seems to fill more of a support/various role, not necessarily a straight tanks since Warriors are still there. They do say that there are no classical roles so, I cant really say.

Guild Wars never had a "tank" class so to speak, so a Guardian type class is good news. I always play Guardian/Tank classes in any MMO no matter what, so this is great news to me.
