New Shuttle PSU

PC50_3.jpg

"A picture is worth a thousand words" Modded my SN95G5 V3 to accomodate the PC50 300W PSU by cutting out a small section of the rear case for the lowered AC plug. There is minimal clearence above the ram but it works! (My 92mm fan is on the rear sicne I have an internal radiator for my water cooling kit)

I am very happy with this PC50 - it is definitely quieter than the 240W or 250W SilentX PSU's, I ordered it directly from Shuttle USA via fax order for $79.00.

It looks 50% toller then stock 240 watt PSU.

What's Your setup? I have also SN95G5 and I use it with stock PSU (allthough I have somewhere also 250 watt PSU Silent X that I've got for My other XPC that I have sold :) )

I have 6800 GT in it and 1G RAM and one extra fan and 250 HDD and 240 watt PSU does still good job. Whay did You got 300 watt PSU? Not enough juice for Ultra or what?

Actually the 240W handled all of my high end components just fine. The 250/300W PSU's have better airflow for cooling. The 300W PSU is for the Intel Shuttle's and has the same dimensions as the 250W PSU.

SN95G5 V3: H2O, FX-55, X850XT PE, SilentX 300W PSU, 2GB Patriot LLK, 160GB Samsung SATA, Sony CDRW, Audigy2, Dell 2005FPW, Klipsch Promedia 4.1
SB83G5: P4 3.4 EE, 7800GTX, SilentX 250W PSU, 1GB Kingston HyperX, 160GB Samsung SATA, NEC DVDRW, Audigy2, Viewsonic N2750W, Logitech 5500D

I remember seeing one of these on a friend's older shuttle....how's the noise level for you? I remember my friend's being pretty loud when at Full Load...

What are the readings of each rail?

Looks like a standard 1U PSU size... You could put some much higher wattage, server rated PSUs in that case if it's true.

Actually, on second look, it's probably shorter, but a 1U might still work depending on what's above that. Hard to tell from the pic.
