New website and i need some advice.

Hey everyone, I have a question..... ok so im gonna start up a new website but ive only used html....i want to learn something that will make my site have more capabilitys and look a little nicer. does anyone know what i should use and if so what do i use to write it. something thats not gonna cost me money. thanks.

You can still use only HTML and make a really nice looking website. To stay with the times and make it easier on yourself, you'll probably want to look into using HTML + CSS (or better yet, XHTML).

There are a ton of different things that you can do.... but you need to figure out WHAT you are after. "I want more capabilities" you say... okay, what capabilities? What features? Then go from there.
