1. Overclock the bejezus out of it on "air" (skeletal case with large fan blowing through) then spend months tweaking at it and continually looking for a few more mhz even though I know I wont find any more lol. Damage my windows install in the process atleast once, get called stupid by my wife, just the normal stuff.

2. Phenom

1. I'd overclock to 4ghz. Hardforums: 2. Rest of the world: 0.
2. Phenom

1) Drop it into the AMD 790FX based board I'm ordering from the Egg next week along with a couple of Radeon 3870's in my spanking new Silverstone KL02. It should hit some nice clocks under the Thermalright Ultra-120 I ordered the other day. :D

2) Phenom.

1) I'd finally have an excuse to upgrade my computer, so i'd build a new box around it and get away from my aging S939. I'd put the system under water cooling and see what kind of overclocks it'd get. Then have it fold for the [H]orde.

2) Phenom (Agena?)

1. Build a PC so I can game again. (Of course I had to sell my gaming PC before this awesome streak of games comes out.)

2. Phenom

1.) Jump for joy, then build a new system to replace my P 805D , I've been getting into programming so I would probably run ubuntu on it and use it to contribute in some way to the Open source area.
2.) Phenom

1.

It would begin like this.

I would wake up, and notice I am the winner of a Phenom. I would then proceed to have a heart attack. After having this heart attack, I would quickly rush to poke myself to make sure that I am not dreaming, nope can't be, than I would call everyone and e-mail everyone I know joyfully proclaiming I have won this godly processor. I would then dress up as a ninja saying I am the amd black edition ninja, while going about proclaiming the good word of this great processor.

Upon receiving this godly awesome processor I will proceed to overclock it as fast as possible and hopefully attain the godly speed for 4.1ghz, beating the previous records set by Eclipse. I would then joyfully sit down and get to a nice long gaming session. It would be the greatest day ever. One can dream right .

2. Phenom

Thanks guys.

1.Upgrade my computer, overclock the hell out of the 5000+ and game/encode to my hearts content
2.Phenom

1.Use it to replace the my old P4 Willamette that I'm going to have to use because of some unexpected bills. Going from a 3600X2 to a P4 is no good. :( I would also use it to fold since my P4 takes a lot longer than my 3600x2 to fold.

2.Phenom!!! It's going to be a Phenomal release...lol.

1. I too would use it to build an AM2 system (new motherboard, ram, video card, the whole lot) and finally upgrade from my 939 rig. I think my 3500+ has earned its retirement after the stuff I've put it through. With a new system up, I'd invest in some better fans for my Antec P180 and a big heatsink so I can put the 5000+ through its paces.

2. Phenom

1. If I won the Black Edition CPU, first I would remain calm with great aplomb when inside I would be like a school girl on prom. With sweaty palms, lip balm, and plenty of Peeping Tom's, I would then install it as carefully as if I was defusing an atomic bomb.

2. Phenom

1. I think I'd upgrade my fileserver (be-2350). rsnapshot takes alot more cpu than I thought.
2. Phenom!

Rob

1. I'd throw out my 5+ yr old PC and build a next generation PC that would be able handle anything thrown at it. I would finally have the change to play the games that I wanted to but couldn't on my old rig and run multiple virtual PCs at the same time with little to no slow-down.

2. Phenom

1. I would overclock it to 3.5GHz and play nothing but Zork, but I'd wait to use it until the 9800GTX is released which will support 16xASCIIAA and DX10.π.

2. Phenom

1: Well I am still sitting on a socket 939 board with 2GB DDR1 and an Athlon64 X2 4400+ (a good system, but aging), so this would be a pretty good upgrade that I could not otherwise afford. This would let me use the parts to upgrade my daughter's computer (Athlon64 3500+) so I could use the parts from her system to fix my neighbor's computer, which is an old AthlonXP 1600+ that has been down for almost a year. So you will be helping 3 people total. Memory prices are really good for DDR2 right now and a new AMD board would be nice.

2: Phenom 9500 (2.2Ghz), 9600 (2.3Ghz), 9700 (2.4Ghz).

1. I'll help my roommate here at university build a simple and effective crossfire (ready:cool:) rig ... he only can play on a laptop, poor fella.

2. Phenom

1. If I got that processor I would:
Sell off my current cpu/ram/mobo.
Use the money to buy new mobo/ram.
By my girlfriend something nice.

2. Phenom

1. I wouldn't call Jesse Jackson and report AMD for having a racist processor.

2. Phenom

I'm not all that into the OLPC thing. So....

1) I'd build a nice and fast computer with some spare parts and the Black beauty and ship the rig off to my pen pal in India.

2) Fenom...Fenlom...Phenmom....WAIT! I got this. It's Phenom.

1. I would update my AMD system to a new AM2 motherboard and put the old board/processor into a spare case for use in my classroom to replace the old pentium II system that my students are currently using.

2. Phenom

1) In the spirit of [H], I would try to OC the living soul out of it, probably fry it, then go out and buy another to try the same thing over again.

2)Phenom

btw- thanks for the oppurtunity

1) Been meaning to upgrade my A64 2800+ for a while so, if I won, it'd be time for a major rebuild. There'd probably be a little overclocking involved.

2) Phenom

1. do what everybody else will and then further my great experience with AMD
2. phenom!

1. I would OC it to the MOOON!!!! (or at least try)

2. Phenom

1. I just bought some ram from NewEgg so I would use it on my my new build. Been using AMD since the my 486DX 100mhz :)

2. Phenom

1. First, I would likely pass out from the shock of winning something. Anything.

Next, I would buy a socket AM2 motherboard, 4gb of fast RAM, a 64-bit flavor of Vista Home Premium (OEM of course), and a Zalman CNPS9500 cooler. I would then slap all of this together in my case and overclock that shiny CPU until I actually stood a chance of running Crysis on Very High without having a seizure. Perhaps I am being optimistic, but whatever.

2. Phenom

1.) I would build an accordingly Kick Butt system and leave it solely dedicated to Folding.
The only real worthy cause out there.

2.) Phenom!

Ice_burg

1. I would mount the processor on black matting and place it in a picture frame then put it on my wall so that everyone would know how advanced our civilization is. And maybe on Sundays I can take it out for a spin, you know...weather permitting.

2. Phenom.

1. Given Eclipse and your overclocks (4 and 3.5ghz respectively) - I'd use it as the basis for a new rig - pick up one of those Cosmos cases, a TEC with water cooling loop, and aim for the sky. Once stable - Fold for Team 33 and occasionally play a game or two (would hate to kill the science too much).

2. Phenom

1 - What I'd do is come here and tell everyone that I got some free stuff and brag about how much it kicks ass, even MORE so that it was free, which = succulent. Then I'd run out and snag a motherboard for it and jam it all together with some other parts that my wife would beat me for buying and I'd download masse porn on that badboy. Ahhh yeah.

2- Phenom

1. I'd use it with pride in my new AM2 uATX system build (just got the case last week) to replace my Opteron 170 full tower build.

2. Phenom
