Newegg looks like they are getting ready for some Conroes

Wow, like 300 dollars over MSRP? And guranteed they only start selling the X6800 today, none of the lesser models.
 
$270 for a mobo WTF since when have we reached server level pricing on enthusiast boards.

I'll stick with my Opty's thank you very much.

I know the mobo prices are getting a bit nuts now. But serious server motherboards have been far more expensive for a while now. The dual xeon mobo in our supermicro 2U rackmount server cost almost $600 and a Tyan Thunder K8W dual opteron is about $400.

Wow. Damn chip was $300 too much anyways :(

The price will probably come down in a week or so, I can't imagine they'll sell too many being 33% higher than everybody else in the known world.
