Nice improvment with 66.81 drivers

Ran some quick benchies and any one who doesnt have these drivers I highly recommend them:

Doom 3: 1280x1024, High, 2xAA
61.77:_____71.2
68.81:_____76.0

HL2 Stress Test: 1280x960, 2xAA, 4xAnsio, everything else on high
61.77:_____125.17
66.81:_____129.84

Nice driver except for the white lines I kept getting in CS:S. Back to 61.77 for me.
 
these are really good drivers.
my Aquamarks went up even with stock clock speed on the video card.
and my doom 3 frame rate is 58.7 in the time demo.
this is with stock card and cpu over clocked 3 percent lol
 
I have the wireframe problem as well. I get the same problem with all the 66 class drivers. The 65.73's still run perfect though so I'll stick to those for now.
 
Ahh good news. I saw the new 66.82's at Guru3d.com and they are WHQL drivers. Uninstalled my 65.73's, ran driver cleaner in safe mode, rebooted, installed these 82's and no wireframe problem!
 
Yo RVE I have seen you post twice that you found 66.82 on guru but I don't see them anywhere I see 61.82 but the highest for the 66 is 66.81. can you post a link to the download for the 66.82???
 
i AGREE, especially with warhammer 40K these drivers kick the butt of every beta/official driver I've tried. They are amazing in that game and faultless as far as I've seen. I'ave been using these since they came out and am very pleased.

there is no 66.82, he misread the driver revision. 66.81 is the most current release and they are not WHQL neither official. one thing they are is fast as hell though... :eek:
 
That was my bad, got all the 66.82s 62.81s etc. all mixed up. Sorry.

Saw the 66.81's and the 61.82's and a WHQL thrown in. Surprised I got any driver still working lol.

The 61.82 WHQL's are what I saw along side the 66.81's and got'em mixed up.

OriginalReaper is right though, with 8xAF it has that horrid lag and wireframe problem. 4x corrects it, which really sucks cuz I play most games with 8xAF :(

your talking about the 66.81's having problem with 8xAF?
 
Yup the 66.81's have that wireframe problem with 8xAF. Haven't tried the 16xAF yet, but with 4xAF or less the problem goes away regardless of AA level.

So with the 66.81's I play at 4xAA and 4xAF.

have you tried that with all games or is that just CS:Source?
 
have u compared them to teh 66.70 or 72's? they are faster than the 66.81 or 66.82.... i truely gained 7 fps in cs:s vst..... went from 78 to 85... and 78 was 66.81 and 66.82 and the 85 was on the 66.72's...
 
I don't play CS:Source *gasp*

I have the problem in some other games. C&C Generals, and games based off the UT2k3&4 engine have horrible framerate lag with 8xAF. Games like Tribes Vengeance use the UT engine.

The rthdribl test thing, and Doom 3 I believe don't give me the same problems though.

I have tried the 66.72's and it's the same problem for me. Every 66 class driver I use has the same problem. 65 class drivers run fine though...
 
Wireframe problem? Well, I've played DOOM3 and Warhammer and don't have problems at whatever AA/AF settings I use. The only problem I have in warhammer is sorta smudgey text with AA enabled that becomes really clear/clean with no AA, but it's still readable.

Wish I had AA with crips ingame text for warhammer anyone else play this game?
