ah I wish you posted this a few weeks ago. I just bought a ds fat. Paid about the same price too.
 
Can this run that 'Brain Game'?

Also, what is DS lite? Is it crippled version of DS?

Lastly, can this do an mp3 player?

DS lite is just a smaller version of the original "fat" ds. This can run brain game and no it can not do MP3.

DS lite second version of the DS with a better screen and smaller.

It can run many brain games.

It can run MP3/Video/Emulators/etc by getting a flash cart that uses some kind of SD card (usually micro) that you load homebrew software onto.

Flash carts make the DS worth it.
