I'm using onboard sound with an M2N-E AM2 motherboad - the HD audio one which uses one slot, not the individual audio plug-ins that take ages to install. Is there any reason as to why Fraps, or any other software cannot record audio coming from the PC itself? I've tried setting it to microphone, Line-In, et cetera, but nothing seems to work.

Could it be a problem with the onboard soundcard itself? Should I go ahead and purchase a PCI slot soundcard?

Are you using the full version of FRAPS? IIRC the demo version won't record audio... things could have changed though since I havent used the demo in years. I paid for FRAPS a loooong time ago. :)

Yes I'm using the full version. The thing is, no other program records the audio coming from the computer either.

it should work to record sound the problem that I had with fraps is it would record all sounds including my teamspeak conversations.

might have to get a seperate soundcard as i used fraps with a soundblaster audigy.
