Older Athlon x2 4400+ @2.22 ghz

Hello,

My current processor decided to go south for the winter so I until I can afford a new one I am reinstalling my old x2 4400+ @2.22 ghz. I remember when these first came out a few years ago that I had to install some type of AMD Dual Core fix to make it address both cores properly.

Do I still need to install this patch to make it function as it should or does window xp address it now?
