Outlook Express 6 - Error while initializing MAPI

I'm trying to backup a customers outlook files to transfer to another computer. The problem is everytime I try to backup the messages, I receive an error about initializing MAPI. I've spent hours searching the internet for an answer. Microsoft's answer is essentially useless.

The identities folder is empty as well so thats a no go.

Any suggestions? I can't see myself manually copying each email (5000+ archived messages.)

Are the emails under a different user folder by chance?
