This may seem dumb, but I having trouble trying to set this option.
We just upgraded to Office 2K10 from Office 2K (if it ain't broke, we don't fix it) and Outlook used to leave a little notification asking if I wanted to read a new email.

It doesn't seem like Outlook 2K10 does that. When I go to:
Options->Mail->Message Arrival->Display a Desktop Alert->Desktop Alert Settings
It looks like I can only set a duration (30 secs max), but that's it.

I'd like the old style because if I step away from my desk or come back from lunch, I know right away I have a new email. It was pretty convenient.

I looked under Advanced, but nothing popped out at me right away.

Thanks in advance.

Why not configure your task bar to show an icon at the bottom right when new mail arrives? That's what I do.

It only lets me go to 3 secs.
Bah, I barely notice it in the taskbar. I'd prefer it be all BAM EMAIL!
But I guess I'll adjust.
