Outlook: Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged

I tether my laptop through my cell phone. When I do this I get this error when sending messages through Outlook. Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged. Could I alleviate this error by running a local smtp relay server?

you may have to set your outgoing mail servers to your isp's - in this case your cell providers

that would just suck... to have to change back and forth from one smtp server to another depending on whether or not i was tethered... I wonder if IMAP pulls an error like this... :/

Shouldn't. Imap can't be abused like smtp can be.

Believe me, as big of a pain in the ass this may be, it's for good cause.
