Hi Everyone,
I have a
AMD FX62
ASUS M3N78 Pro
and admittedly a cheap heatsink

I use this as a media center and every 2-4 weeks its just off and wont turn on. Here is the kicker, all I have to do is take the chip out and put it back in and it will turn on.

Is this common after overheating?

Any resolution?

I've been checking out reviews on this board, considering buying it.

As to your question, I couldn't say other than all reviews refer to the chipset as being very hot, and many suggest the higher end cpus would be really pushing it.
Perhaps putting a fan on it may help.

whats the temps on the CPU.. would be important.. and also on the northbridge..

but if those are within the norm id say theres something screwed up with the board..

i had that problem before. i did the same exact thing you did. the motherboard battery was weak at my part. so i bought a new one. started to turn on how a computer suppose to. so try this. it might help, it might not.

also, if you can. try making your computer work. hurry and enter your bios, go to your pc health to look at temperature and let us know. WE HERE TO HELP! XD

are you even overclocking btw?

If he's using it as a media center, probably not. But it's an FX-62, so back in the day, maybe. :p
