Here's the deal.. just switched from asus p5b-dlx to this motherboard and can't get my old overclock back which was 465x8=3.72. I wouldn't mind 415x9 either but nothing over 400fsb will post. Am i missing something is the latest 0805 bios not overclock friendly??? Memory passed memtest overnight.

CPU: C2D e6600
Ram: OCZ Plat REV.2

AI Tuning: Manual
Nvidia GPU Ex: Disabled
LinkBoost: Disabled

FSB - Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked
x FSB - Memory Raio: N/A
FSB (QDR), Mhz: 1600 works.... anything above that and i don't get a post???
Actual FSB (QDR), 1600
MEM (DDR), Mhz: 900
Actual MEM (DDR), Mhz: 900

Vcore Voltage: 1.6
Memory Voltage:2.1
1.2v HT Voltage: 1.5
NB Core Voltage:1.5 (Voltages are high to make sure it's not a voltage setting)problem
SB Core Voltage:1.5
CPU VTT Voltage:1.5
DDRII Controller Ref Voltage:AUTO
DDRII Channel A Ref Voltage:AUTO
DDRII Channel B Ref Voltage:AUTO

tCL (CAS Latency): 4
tRCD: 4
tRP: 4
tRAS: 15
Command Per Clock : Tried 1T and 2T

Advance Memory Settings

PCIEX16_2 Frequency (Mhz): 100
PCIEX16_3 Frequency (Mhz): 100
SPP<->MCP Ref Clock, Mhz: Auto

Now THAT is how to post when asking for help. Wish I knew more about Nvidia chipsets.

This seems odd to me, a typo ?

MEM (DDR), Mhz: 900
Actual MEM (DDR), Mhz: 900

There is no FSB|DRAM ratio? That might be the culprit if its not set to 1:1.

It's unlinked... FSB does not affect the memory.

as it turns out after more testing...the highest stable FSB on this mobo the only one to pass stress tests is 1333.... i knew i should of stayed away from asus.

Vcore 1.6v is kinda high I guess.

Try these voltages for instance:
Vcore Voltage: 1.3875v
Memory Voltage: 2.15v
1.2v HT Voltage: 1.45v
NB Core Voltage: 1.45v
SB Core Voltage: 1.65v
CPU VTT Voltage: 1.45v
DDRII Controller Ref Voltage: Auto
DDRII Channel A Ref Voltage: Auto
DDRII Channel B Ref Voltage: Auto

Try setting your fsb/mem to linked and synced mode 1700/425 MHz and multipier to 8. These 680i boards seem to have massive FSB holes.

I have the same board and an E6420. I've also found that there seems to be a FSB hole. I can get it too boot fine with QDR 1650 but I can't get it to go any higher than that. I don't know what BIOS rev you are using but I'm on 805. I've thought about trying some of the previous revs but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Good luck with your OC. Please let me know if you get around this issue.
