With native DDR2 800 support I can drop in some 800Mhz ram and run a sync. bus, right?
Or it this just for OC applications?

Yeah, with ddr2 800 you can put in and run sync. But since ddr2 seems so cheap right now why not just get some of the ddr2 1000 and underclock the ram and run with tigher timings.
