Performance Difference between X1900XT and 8800GT?

I had looked at the comparison chart on Tomshardware, though they haven't updated the chart to include the 8800GT as of yet.

With the results taken there, it'd be about 1.5-2 times as fast in many of the games/benches, compared to a x1900xt.

Would it be safe to say the 8800GT results ought to be relatively close (generally speaking) to the GTX?

That and the 8800GT is a dx10 card, of course...But if something's not too far off from ATI/NV, I may wait and let the card get the most life out of it as I can.
 
A number of threads and reviews have pointed out that the GT is between the 8800GTS 640 and the 8800GTX...but its closer to the GTX then the GTS.
 
I'm upgrading from a X1900XT to an eVGA 8800GT SC and based on my research the 8800GT should be anywhere from 50-100% faster.

I'd compare the 8800GTX scores against the X1900XT then subtract a frame or two from the 8800GTX if you're running the 8800GT at stock.
 
I went from a X1900XT 512 MB which oced quite well to an 8800 GT and though I can't quantify the fps, I can say there is a noticeable difference which is afterall what you want - mere numbers are meaningless here. Overclocking obviously increases the differnece. Well worth the upgrade.
