So I just put together a new build using a new mobo cpu and power supply and using some old components from my previous build. Everything is compatible and should work together but when I power it on the lights, fans, etc come on but my display, mouse, keyboard wont turn on. I've never had this problem before and I find it really strange. What's your best bet on whats wrong? Could it be a faulty motherboard?

Greetings,

I just had this excact problem a few weeks ago with a new build. It was a very underpowered PSU. Swapped out the 500W with a 750W and all was fine.

Best regards,

we need specs on the machine.

if the psu is big enough, recheck everything (rreseat cards, ram and cpu) then boot without anything attached except monitor. if you get to post, then reboot with the keyboard. then the mouse. etc..

Read the stickied "Basic Troubleshooting" guide on what to do when the PC does not POST.

Does your mobo had a LED panel? Read the error code.

I built my new rig few months back and it make this weird peeping noise. It turn out I forgot to put a 6 power pin to my video card and that was it.
