Just another day in the life of those who are truly [H]ard.
Looks like the person who started the other thread has been all over the place, saying the same things about the 8800GTs and not just BFG.
The Inquirer linked to a few threads, and here is one where he claims MSI and other brands did the same thing: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=43797
You can tell it's him because his signature is that Ashentech site that he uses on other forums like pcper. Also his terrible grammar skills are a dead giveaway.
If you read the forums linked in that Inq article all you see is him every other post "confirming" and "reconfirming" it, claiming his 'friend' who was banned from said forums is having the problems.
Then you have him in this post (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpost.php?p=522694&postcount=46) recommending waiting for ATI to release cards!
Yeah, certainly no FUD campagin going on here.
My memory is quite different about this. I remember a few weeks before the launch that NV had to pull many (all?) GTX's from the channels because of the wrong resistor being used. I remember the problem being fixed well before launch. I never once heard of that issue before NV brought it out to light. I remember that the issue wasn't an actual problem more than it was a concern of what could be a problem had they let it be. I've seen a couple of people who somehow obtained the few faulty GTX's that didn't make it back, and they've had zero problems with them.
OMG - everyone is actually believing him!!! Someone who's registered on there should go and put things right...

i'm seeing this thread has become attention for some tech site, specifically on pcper, things are not looking good for us, [H]ard community, so i really hope your decision is right.
i don't wanna hear people talk about how low is [H], for i'm a proud [H]'s community member.
The other sites are getting huffy out of greed and professional jealousy. They want to exaggerate [H]'s supposed negativity in order to puff themselves up. It's a pretty cutthroat battle for credibility, mindshare, and the revenue that comes with them out there among tech sites on the net. [H] and Kyle win the old-fashioned way, by telling the truth, digging for the info that matters, and refusing to compromise. All the hand-wringing "restraint" and "open-mindedness" adds up to is self-promotion and editorial cowardice. Oh, and of course lingering pro-AMD/ATi editorial bias.

I recall about a year ago (or so) there were issues with an nvidia release.....7900GTX I think. The problem was quickly remedied because people on forums posted problems in good faith......after a short while, it became obvious that there was a real consistant problem and it was fixed.
Uh.. there are no Gorillas in marketing.
Try Guerrilla.
Although this thread is funny it's a bit scary too. Companies are just starting to figure out how many purchases are decided on forums. Poison pill posts (PPP!) are only going to increase and become more sophisticated, probably in the same way that phishing is slowly evolving.
I just hope we can stay ahead in the arms race.
Only those that think small would consider join date or number of posts as a sign of intellect. Fact is there's tons of crap spewed forth daily, adding to post counts. Does this mean that they're actually intelligent people?
Furthermore some of us were around since nearly the beginning however life moved in a different direction and we lost touch with the [H]. After a while we came back for whatever reason.
See...post count and join dates don't really mean shit.
Nice
After checking out his post at PCP, I can only say that I'm quite stunned. What an extremely immoral thing for a person to do to drive traffic to his so-called "tech site". I'm glad he was weeded out here in short order, and the same goes for bobrownik. I can only hope that BFG hasn't been affected by his childish actions.
Have you guys seen this?

its funny that they didnt deduce it was the same guy that started 3 of those threads.
...
Kyle Bennett '08!
No offense guys, but did you guys forget the GTX launch?? Bad resistor ring any bells?? And let me tell you....NV was not all that quick to admitting they have a problem either, but thats just the way things work. They didnt admit to it until the story got so big that they couldnt ignore it anymore. They said that they fixed all the cards before launch also which was bull. I had 2 EVGA cards with the wrong resistor which were replaced quickly tho.
Does this story about the 8800GT sound like FUD??? I will admit that it does, but I thought the bad resistor on the 8800GTX that plagued most of the launch cards was BS also. So never say never.
I remember a bunch of corporate fuck ups that no one wanted to admit to until they had no choice. So if you think that NV or BFG would come on here and admit they have another launch problem you are pretty fuckin naive. Now Im not saying that I dont believe Kyle and the 8800GT has a problem. Im just saying that some of you really need to stop swinging and just go off the facts. And so far I have not seen an official statement from neither NV or BFG.
And as far as credibility is concerned. Lets think about it for a sec. BFG sell NV products. BFG also advertises here so if they told Kyle there is no problem.......guess what???
Thats what he is going to tell you and unknowingly he could be tellin a lie.
Lets wait for an official statement I say or just wait to see how this plays out.
