Oh I'm serious about wanting it....not so seriously able to pay ATM.
PM me if you'd like and LMK what you'd want for it and/or what you're looking for in trade and I'll let you know if its something I can do...if not, I'll conceed it to Ockie.

Since my little problems in the past got bigger, I have to settle with switching parts out of the server chassis from a 4x P3 Xeon to a 4x P4 xeon.

Ahh, This arrived a few days ago, just a part so far, getting the rest soon.

That's just FUGLY

I have an suggestion about your dual computer with the dual external cooling units. Use Polyurithane glue on the tops of the units instead of duct tape, this glue will glue just about anything including pvc to pvc. And also paint the two units the same color as your case, something close to that blue color. Maybe trying to build up a metal enclosure for the two external cooling units and painting the enclosure blue also.
In my opinion, you rush through building up the 2 external cooling towers, put some more time working on these units.

I am not downing your Dual computer, but I am giving you some suggestions to go with.

Gatewat/TyanDual P3 600- Usually my server but its my main box until the motherboard for my main computer gets back from the egg.

And the latest edition is this power edge 2200 board. it has dual P2 266 512k EEC L2 cache.
Its currently waiting for someone to sell me a dell power supply. Also if you have any detailed info on these or similar boards please pm me. thanks

Oh and I have a Netgear RP614 router for DSL/NET access. And both work just fine.

Great_Melinko - And the latest edition is this power edge 2200 board. it has dual P2 266 512k EEC L2 cache.

I'm pretty sure Dell still sells the stuff or at least has information on their older servers. I found plenty out about my PowerEdge 4300, although some of the information isn't exactly accurate.

Today I upped the amount of RAM in my PowerEdge 4300 by adding a 512MB stick (and it worked because the density was right, my 256MB stick didn't work), so I decided to take some pics. The room this thing is in is sort of cramped, but I managed to get a decent pic of the insides. This is my webserver, BTW.

Important Specs:
  • Dual P3 - 450 w/ 512KB L2 Cache
  • 768MB of RAM
  • Two of Three Redundant PSUs
  • Two 18GB 10K RPM SCSI Drives (Up to 8)

Shot of SCSI Backplane through inside:

Just another shot of the insides:

I also have a Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P with two Athlon-M 35watt 2400+ Mobile processors running at 2.45GHz @ 1.75/1.85??? volts in a case I built myself (incomplete):
photos_dually_axpm_dscn0219.jpg

They do have the parts for the Poweredge 2200, I already dug up info for this machine. The thing to note about getting the parts from Dell, you have to have a account set up in order for you buy parts from them, which really sucks. Just getting the information to him was hard enough, I had to go through 4 different departments, several phone option choices before I got the info.

And the sad thing, they asked me for a serial number for a computer. I did Great_Melinko a favor and called Dell asking if they sold parts and a number for the powersupply. Yes Dell asked me for a number for the Poweredge, which I replied back that I was building it from the ground up. They after 5 minutes of trying to tell the person from India that I just needed some info, she finally gave up the serial number for the powersupply.

The second best places to look for parts are PC recycling places for Poweredge 2200 parts.

Hey Tim_axe, I see that your server need a dusting.

omfg, DUST THAT!!!!

Thanks everyone for helping me find parts. i took the psu out of the 'family' (family until it crashes  ) dell and it worked so im thinking if i can find a 250-300w dell psu it will work.

Can you say revenge of the Dust Bunnies? Please do us all a favor, clean the case out with something, can of air, pressure washer, air compressor, or blow it out.

Hey Tim_Axe, if we all have to come to your house to clean it out, we will charge you for time we spent cleaning it out.

Well...it's been running fairly continiously since Japan all the way to Idaho...

I guess I'll have to work on cleaning it soon, but with all of the house work (structural, among other things) going on, doing the cleaning right now would not last very long. :(

I think the dust bunnies are going into a rabid hungry state right now, though. They managed to disconnect my SCSI HDDs a while back...so they'll have to be controlled before long...

A little disappointing to see a powerhouse like that with a GF2MX in it. I know dual systems are not necessarily for gaming, mostly for number crunching, compiling, seti, etc.... but a GF2 MX!!! not even a GF2 GTS!!

I took a couple pictures of mine tonight though it is crap compared to anything else shown and I will warn you that the picture quality is poor and there is DUST!!! But I'm not gonna get them uploaded tonight, when I get my room of doom page updated and given a partial re-vamp annndd upload it to it's new (crappy) hope on tripod.

I will give you the specs now.

Micron Motherboard with Dual PII 266 with 16 MB RAM(PC66) $30-Ebay
ATA 100 Card $20 Used-friend
IBM EtherJet 10/100 $10 or $15 Used Local Computer Shop
1MB S3 trio PCI Video - Spare (Bought new for $50 several years ago when I built my P-166)
Seagate 4GB IDE HD (System Drive) Free from friend for helping him Move
WD 3GB IDE HD Pulled from a P-120 I bought at an auction for a $1
3.5 floppy Bad, needs replaced
30GB Maxtor HD ATA133 (Runs off of ATA 100 card) $30 after rebate at staples
40GB Maxtor HD ATA133 (Runs off of ATA 100 card) Free, Given to me as a Thank you from my old boss.
Creative Quad Speed CD-ROM Traded ...er long story $5 or $10
L&C 350 watt Power Supply $20
Big Full tower case Trade with friend ~$35 invested
Assorted cooling fans FREE, Pulled from Dead Power Supplies, etc...
2 sticks of 128 MB
1 stick (PC100) came in a used compaq I bought from a friend for $200
the other stick (PC133) I traded a Socket A Heatsink for ..could be a long story.

It Runs 2000 Server, The entire 30GB is Mirrored with 30 of the 40 in a Software RAID.
I use it primarly as a file server.
It also runs AVG anti-virus

It's been a good unit, if it died tomorrow I'd feel like I got my use out of it, it's slow but does what I need.
